Last Minute Holiday Gift Ideas for Dogs & Dog Owners

Dec 21, 2023

We've all been there... the holidays are rapidly approaching and you realize you forgot to buy a gift for your favorite dog or dog owner! Well fear not, we've put together lists of our favorite items to help you out. The best part? Most of these items are available on Amazon for added convenience!

Meal toppers are a great option for spicing up your dog's kibble, and they make a great high-value training rewards as well!

Benebones are one of our favorite types of long-lasting chew. They're nearly indestructible and are safe (for most dogs) to have in their crate or x-pen unsupervised. These four packs are great to stock up on!

Not to be confused with e-collars, GPS collars like the Whistle or Fi are great for tracking your dog's activity, location, and health.

If you've been around KeenDog for long, then you know that we are obsessed with Hartz DuraPlay balls. They smell like bacon and have a soft squishy feel with a squeaker inside. They are every dog's favorite ball!

While we always encourage handfeeding and using food for training, that's not always possible. Puzzle feeders can be a great way to add some enrichment to your dog's meal times!

You can never have to many bully sticks! They're a fantastic digestible chew. Make sure you get the odorless kind, as they can be pretty stinky.

A hard-sided car crate like a Dakota Kennel, Ruffland, or Gunner is a BIG investment, but there's no safer way to transport your beloved pooch.

Another idea for adding enrichment to your dog's day is by using a snuffle mat. You can use your dog's entire meal or just part of it, and let them use their nose to find their food. Make sure you pick up the mat when they're done, though, as you don't want the snuffle mat itself to become a toy.

Since we work with a lot of rescues, DNA test kits come up a lot. Who doesn't want to know the makeup of their all-American mutt? Based on all of our collected knowledge, Embark tests seem to be the most accurate option on the market!

Now that people are going back to working in offices, Furbo cameras are great way to stay connected with your pooch throughout the day!

For the active dog owner, a backyard agility set would be a great way to take training to the next level. And meet those new years fitness goals as well!

You can never have too many treat pouches. Fanny packs are all the rage right now, so why not gift a fanny pack treat pouch? This one from Wilderdog is thoughtfully designed and a favorite among our trainers.

Love KeenDog? Give the gift of KeenDog merch! Our storefront has lots of options to fit individual preferences.

Gifting to someone who loves their dog, but hates cleaning up after them? The mudbuster makes cleaning paws easy and quick. Grab one for the backdoor, one for the car... you won't regret it.

Our trainer Rachel makes our absolute favorite collars and leashes over at Mutt Life & Co. If you'd like to make an order or purchase a gift card, shoot her an email at [email protected].

A very practical gift, the Rinseroo makes bathing dogs easy-peasy. The Rinseroo is a genius solution for bath time as it acts as an instant hose for any faucet or shower head.

Last, but not least, give the gift of a well-trained dog! Our online course are the perfect option for people who like taking the independent-study route, those who don't live locally to KeenDog, and those who want a more cost effective option.

Let us know if you end up gifting any of these items! Merry Christmas and happy holidays from the KeenDog Team!
